Rick Narang Presented with Texas-Themed Gift of Appreciation

Bonham -- For more than 12 years, Rick Narang has sponsored quarterly dinners for local officials and industrial leaders in Fannin County. On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, the business community reciprocated by presenting a beautiful Texas-themed quilt to the Connecticut resident. Mr. Narang, president and founder of global manufacturing equipment supplier Wire & Plastic Machinery Corp., purchased the former General Cable Corporation facility almost 13 years ago and Bonham Industrial Foundation formally recognized Narang in 2008 for "his exceptional contribution to the community in the creation of jobs and improvements to the economy of Bonham."

2 more weeks and most of us will be in Atlanta for the 2017 Interwire and Global Ferrous Rod and Wire Symposium. I will be moderating and then teaching about extrusion in the Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing Course segment on Monday May 8. The show exhibit begins on Tuesday. We will be located in Booth 1131 centrally located on the main floor. We will be showcasing pictures, video, and an interactive presentation of our entire inventory offering. We will also be presenting a virtual reality tour through our warehouses. Beverages and snacks will be available within the expansive 1800 square foot (167 square meters). An enclosed meeting room will be available for detailed private project discussions. Booth visitors will have access to web-enabled stations for a live product search with detailed specifications and pictures. Erik Macs Joins WPMC as Director of Sales

Erik A. Macs has been named Director of Sales for Wire and Plastic Machinery Corp. of Bristol, CT. Mr. Macs has over 25 years of experience in wire and cable machinery sales.  Previously, he had been involved with ebeam crosslinked wire materials research at Judd Wire, blown film packaging manufacturing at Union Camp, extrusion and injection molding processing at Dennison and Teflon film heat sealing and thermoforming research with American Durafilm. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from Central New England College. He has been a member of the Wire Association International since 1991 and was the recipient of WAI’s 2013 Donnellan Memorial Award, which honors an individual’s contributions to the Association, as well as WAI’s 2004 President’s Award for extraordinary volunteer service. He served two terms on the board of directors of WAI. He is still a member of the Education Committee, Member Relations Committee, and Paper Awards Committees. A former director of the New England Chapter of WAI, he also served as that chapter’s president in 2000. He developed the seminar “Introduction to Insulated Wire Manufacturing” which was presented by the New England chapter in 2001 and 2002. He has also chaired the Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing program since 2007, frequently serving as a course moderator and presenter.
